About Marari Mararikulam is a beach village in the district of Allappey. Mararikulam is the fertile land of communism and it has a very beautiful beach which is known by the name of Mararikulam beach. There are two village panchayts for this village, Marari South and Marari North. Mararikulam North consists of parts of Mararikulam, Perunormangalam, Kanichukulangara, Beach, Poklasheri and Chennaveli. The South Panchayat consists of parts of Mararikulam, Kattoor, Pollathai, Valavanadu, Preethikulangara, Omanapuzha, Kalavoor, Pathirappally, and Chettikadu.

Velorvattom Mahadeva Temple, Mararikulam - The Velorvattom Mahadeva Temple in Cherthala is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is managed by the Kerala Urazma Devaswom Board. It is believed to have been constructed about 700 years ago by Villimangalm Swami. There are two deities of Lord Shiva in the temple, which are known as Vadakkanappan and Thekkanappan.
